Christmas is...

Welcome scrappy friends!  Today I'm sharing with you a sketch challenge from Scrapbook Challenges.  I strayed from the sketch by using 3 tags instead of 4 - 2.5x2.5 photos at the bottom.  I'm trying to get caught up with my Christmas photo layouts.  Here is my layout...
This photo is of my 3 sons on Christmas day 2013.  My oldest was back from college to celebrate the Christmas season.

The supplies are old pattern and I am unaware of who the manufacturers are.

Free Christmas or Winter Printables

In my search to find specific free printables I came across the following I thought I would share.

1.  Snowman on park bench   It would not let me drag the image to my blog.

2. Gift Tags

3. The Birds' Christmas Tree.
I hope someone can use these....  Have a great scrappy day!!!

Happy Birthday Surprise!

Welcome back to my last sketch challenge post today.  This sketch is from Let's Get Sketchy.  Perfect sketch for 2 4x6 photos.  Here is my layout:

This layout is about a surprise birthday party my son's gave to me at work.  The layout is for my oldest son's book.

The pattern papers are older, and from a scrapbook kit I made from my stash.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for looking. My plan is to be back again tomorrow with more sketch layouts.

Surprise! Party!

Welcome friends!  I'm back with another layout using a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.  I stayed with the sketch layout except for the photos.  I used 2 medium sized photos.  Here is my layout...
This layout is about a surprise birthday party my son's gave to me at work.  The layout is for my middle son's book.

I really liked the circle elements on the sketch.  My layout was made with scraps from my scrap bin,   the enamel dots are Teresa Collins, and the stickers are older and from my sticker bin.  I fussy cut the clocks from a pattern paper I've had for years.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by...  I will be back shortly with my final sketch challenge post today.

the guys

Hello scrappy friends...  I'm back today with more sketch challenges.  This 2 photo sketch is from Scrapbook Challenges.  I really liked this sketch because I could use up some of my larger scraps on the background.  Here is my layout...
My sons and their friends were working on the yard, and stopped long enough for me to take some photos.

The enamel dots are Teresa Collins, and all the pattern papers were from my scrap bin.

The sketch can be found here

My layout has been featured at Let's Get Sketchy.  I have been so busy getting my base pages done for my December Daily that I haven't taken the time to check in at any of my sketch challenge sites.

I am behind on my sketch challenges for the month...  only 6 days to get caught up so I am off to get my photos and papers pulled!

December Daily Third Post 7 Pages Done

Welcome back scrappy friends...  whew busy December Daily weekend!  7 base pages completed today.

First Base Page:
This base page will include a photo of my church's nativity.  The "Come let us adore Him" was a free printable,  and has been removed from their site.  Sorry --  They do have chalkboard free printables that are like this, and they can be found here.    The wood veneer star is Heidi Swapp that is fairly new.  The angel is what I had the most fun with on this page...  so simple to make!

Second Page Base:
This is a very busy pattern page. This page will be documenting ornament stories.  I'm not sure if my 3 sons have a story about any of their ornaments, but I have a story about 1 that I made when their Dad and I were first married.  I made the 4 envelopes, and the 3 in front will have my son's names on them.  The Post Card is a cut apart from a Simple Stories paper.  I had the wood veneer in my stash and put them on just to use them up.

Third Base Page:
This will be my Santa at the Mall page.  When I attach this page to the book page I will leave an opening for a large tag to put my info about Santa on.  If anyone in this group that knows of a site that has Santa info I would love to have the link.   The "believe" label in the bottom right was a free printable pdf from Heidi Swapp I printed off last year.  The heidiswapp.com website is not working for me so I could not provide a link.  It states that it is offline whatever that means???

Fourth Base Page:
This probably looks like a strange page...  The bag I will be using to hold the receipts for all the Christmas items I get this year.  I will be taking photos of shopping aisles that have wrapping paper and other Christmas related items.  I will print as a collage and be place on the front of the bag.  The Oh What Fun label is another item that was on the Heidi Swapp free printable pdf. :(   The "shop till you drop" I fussy cut from my AC Holiday 6x6 paper pad cut apart page.  I added the handles for fun.

Fifth Base Page:
This will be my family photo page.  The photo will take up most of the page so I left this page simple.  The It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year label is another item that was on the Heidi Swapp free printable pdf.  :(

Sixth Base Page:
Another simple page that will document an area family that has an outdoor Christmas display.  It is like a display my parents took my siblings and I to see as children.

Seventh Base Page:

I love this page... of coarse it's all about me!  I do not like cold...  so there will be a photo of how I try to stay warm & cozy during the winter.

Now comes the frustrating part for me....  I can not decide on how to do my bases for 4 pages I want included in my December Daily.  Any ideas you can share on documenting favorite Christmas 1) tv show, 2) movie, 3) song, and 4) story would be appreciated.

I'm calling it a day for December Daily...  my house needs a little TLC, and I need to prepare for the coming week.

December Daily Second 8(9) Pages Done

Welcome friends to more December Daily base pages I completed today.  I will not be posting my Dad's birthday page.  That is why I put (9) in title.  That is for my info should I want to come back to my posts next year.

First Base Page:

Now I think it quite ironic that as I was making this tag for this page... Susan Hiles was posting the 24 hour tag challenge in the December Daily Inspiration FB Group.  :)    I can not say this tag was my original idea, and would not enter it in the tag challenge...  I scraplifted it from here.  She provided info on how she made tag at the end of her post. I really liked the pin that she added to her tag, so I created a pearl pin from my stash.

I will be putting a snowman photo on this page... Hopefully my sons will make, but I received permission to photograph snowman building from Mom of the children that live on my block.  That is my backup plan.

Second Base Page:
This is my sled page.  Hopefully my sons will go sledding this December.  My backup plan is to take a photo of my Mom's decorated sled.  The sled is what my siblings and I used when we were young.  I will add a title once I know what the photo will be.

Third Page Base:
This is my snowball fight page...  Journaling card with snowflakes is from Elle's Studio, and the "snowball fight" is a free printable that I reduced down so it would not fill the whole page.  The free printable can be found here.

Fourth Page Base:
I do not decorate much for December...  A wreath on my door and 3 snowmen in my yard.  I live in a very very small house so our tree and stockings are the only decorations inside the house.  A simple page just to document.

Fifth Page Base:
Another simple page...  I made my son's stockings so I want to document about them.  It was a new tradition I started when my oldest son was born.  I sewed jingle bells on them...  and I'm not sure that will last in my book... but their stockings have them and I had tiny ones in my stash so why not use them! :)

Sixth Page Base:
Another simple page...  about present wrapping.

Seventh Page Base:
I will be doing my December Daily for all of December.  The 30th I will be documenting about my "goal" I made for 2014.  This page needs more embellishment... I just can't decide what else to put on it.

Eighth Page Base:
And I always try to make at least one goal for the new year.

I'm a little disappointed in some of my simple pages.  Don't know what I could have done differently.

Sorry there was only 1 printable this time...  maybe more in the next bunch.  I hope to be back again tomorrow with another post.

December Daily First 7(9) Pages Done

Welcome scrappy friends!!!  I know the title is a bit confusing...  I will share with you today 7 completed base pages.  The other two bases will be photos that I will add embellishments onto the photo.  They will be the picture of my Christmas tree with presents, and a photo of my boy's boots, gloves, and my scarf.

I want to remind you that I am trying to use items up in my stash so some of these items on these pages will be quite old.

The first base:
This page will document my 2 sons putting up our Christmas tree.  The cards at the left are from cut apart sheets.  The stocking ornaments are from a Simple Stories collection and the "trim the tree" is from a newAC Holiday 6x6 pad I purchased just for my December Daily.  The bag of metal circles and tab at top were given to me by a scrapbooking friend.  The "Around the Christmas Tree" vintage Christmas ticket is a free printable that can be found here.  I will have more of these tickets throughout my DD.  The rest are scraps from my stash.

My second base:

This page will document a tree lighting ceremony that is taking place in my community.  Everything is scraps from my stash.  I made the 2 trees myself.  The instructions to make trees can be found here.

The third base:
This page will document when we take down the Christmas tree.  It is a very time consuming job.  I have bought my sons ALMOST every year an ornament so that when they move out and are on their own they can take a little piece of our family Christmases with them.  Plus it is a great start to help them decorate at least a tree for Christmas.  This will be a part of my documentation on this page, also. Scraps were used except for the 4x6 card from Simple Stories and the tiny alpha are from different sticker sheets that I have cut apart years ago.

The Fourth base:
This page will be put into my DD upon receipt of my first Christmas card.  It is a pocket page.  The post card is from Simple Stories cut apart page.  The other embellishments are just random items I have been placing into a Christmas tin as I was doing Christmas pages over the years. My favorite part is the tiny envelope I filled with a scrap piece of green card stock.

My fifth base:
I just realized the Santa sticker did not make it onto this base.  I will remedy later...  As you can see this is where I will be putting the Christmas lists for this year.  The cut apart card and label are from Elle's Studio, the Christmas lists are a free printable that can be found here, and the chalkboard tag is another free printable you can find here.  The papers are from my stash.

My sixth base:
This base will document the first snow in December and the temperature that day.  The background paper is by Creative Imaginations, the snowflake and label tag were given to me by a scrapbook friend.  The thermometer is from here

The seventh base:
This base will document a "snow day".  Everything was given to me except the "Counting Down the days of December" calendar which is a free printable.  You can find it here.  I will be circling the date of the "snow day" so it stands out more than the circled 25th.

Ok that is enough for this post... time to go make more bases. :)

3 stitches

Welcome back to my last post of today...  This sketch challenge is from Creative Scrappers.  This 2 photo sketch was a challenge for me.  I searched for quite some time just for photos.  Then I struggled for pattern papers.  I do like the end result.
This layout is about his cut finger, and the 3 stitches it took to repair that cut.

The background is Moxxie Down on the Farm, the scraps of stripe and hexagon are from My Minds Eye Boy Crazy collection, the hexagon journal spot I fussy cut from a Heidi Swapp Limits collection card, the red surgical tape and gauze were given to us by the doctor so I could use on this page, and the rest are from my miscellaneous sticker bin.  You can find the sketch here.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope to be back again tomorrow with more sketch challenge layouts.  Have a great, scrappy evening!

enough with the pictures!

Hello again friends!  This sketch challenge is from Colorful Creations.  Such a fun sketch!!  Here is my layout...
This is another photo I caught at the end of a photo shoot for senior pictures.

The pattern papers either came from my scrap bin or did not have a manufacturer's strip.  The camera embellishments are from Creative Embellishments

The colors I used include:   sunflower, ablaze, lime rickey, shamrock, extra white, garret gray, and tricorn black.   The sketch and color palette are here.

Thank you for stopping by.... I have 1 more sketch challenge to post today...  I will be back shortly.

Fish Tale

Welcome back friends...  The sketch challenge for this post is from Sketch N Scrap.  Here is my layout...
He is so proud of the fish he caught...

The background paper is Lawn Fawn Into The Woods.  The orange is cardstock.  The brown corner triangles are from a Echo Park This & That 6x6 paper pad.  The polka dot behind photos are photo overlays that I would never use as overlays.  They are from the Simple Stories Take a Hike collection.  The rest of the pattern papers are from my scrap bin.  The fishing related embellishments are also from the Simple Stories Take a Hike collection.  The ruler is from my school related embellishments.  The orange circles of string is actual fishing line he cut for me to use on the page.  The wooden dots are from the Teresa Collins Hello My Name Is collection.

Sketch 69 can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by...  I will be back shortly with another sketch challenge post.

For the Record

Hello friends!  I'm back with another layout using a sketch from Scrapbook Challenges.
The photo pretty much says it all... This was a photo shoot day for senior pictures.  He was to the point that his mouth hurt so bad from smiling he could not do it anymore...  I could not resist snapping one more photo to remember this moment!  He was a very good sport each time we went out to take photos.  I think I captured this "smile pain" almost every time.

The 2 background pattern papers have been in my stash for years.  The other pattern papers are actually Simple Stories Snap cards Him collection.  The strip of star pattern paper along the bottom of the picture and on each side of the Him cards is Bella Blvd Max Rock Star.  The gray/white/blue stripe stars are fussy cut from a scrap.  The 2 arrow paper clips are Maya Road.  This layout is simple, and the focal point stays on the photo.  The sketch can be found here.
